A man has appeared in court accused of killing his girlfriend who took her own life after enduring an alleged ‘controlling and coercive’ relationship.
Christopher Trybus, 42, is charged with the manslaughter of Tarryn Baird, of Swindon Wiltshire, who died by hanging in November 2017.
The controlling and coercive behaviour is alleged to have taken place between December 2015 and the date of Ms Baird’s death.
The company director is also accused of raping Ms Baird between October and November 2016.
Wearing a suit and tie, Trybus appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court today and spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address during the brief hearing.
No pleas were taken and the case was sent directly to Bournemouth Crown Court for a date next month.
Trybus, of Swindon, was released on unconditional bail.
