A man has been airlifted to hospital in a critical condition after he fell through a roof at a work site.

It’s understood the man, 60, was working on the roof of Gunnedah Rural Museum, in northern NSW on Thursday morning when he fell six metres.

Multiple emergency services rushed to the scene with a road ambulance driving him to the nearby John Longmuir Playing Fields.

The man was then loaded into a Westpac Rescue Helicopter and airlifted to John Hunter Hospital, where he’s now fighting for life.

Police confirmed SafeWork NSW will investigate the incident.
