Quite a few Manchester United youngsters have put up impressive performances this season. James Scanlon seems to be on the verge of getting selected for the senior team after making 17 goal contributions in 18 games. Chido Obi is another figure who has delivered an incredible show as many wish to see him as Rasmus Hojlund’s replacement. Another standout performer for the academy has been Gabriele Biancheri. He has so far scored 20 goals across U18 and U21 football this season. Manchester United even, reportedly, rejected a deadline-day offer from Italian side Como for the teenage sensation during the January transfer window. United in Focus claimed that the club rates the Wales U19 talent “very highly.” The article went on to suggest that Biancheri is “very highly regarded” within Manchester United and he might get a pre-season spell with Ruben Amorim and the first team.
Biancheri had joined Manchester United on a four-year deal from Cardiff City in 2023. He represented Wales, earning a hat-trick for his country’s Under-19 side in November. Biancheri, who is also eligible to play for Italy, had an impressive spell as a left-sided inside forward in the FA Youth Cup.
As per Daily Mail, Manchester United have no intention to lose one of their most promising young talents. Chelsea had previously expressed their interest in signing Biancheri, who made his U18s debut for the Bluebirds in an FA Youth Cup fixture earlier this campaign.
Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford joined Aston Villa on a loan move just a day before Europe’s winter transfer window came to an end. Manchester United manager Amorim revealed that he let Rashford leave the side because he could not convince the English international to follow his methods.
“What I say is I couldn’t put Marcus to see the way you’re supposed to play football and to train the way I see it. And sometimes you have one player who is really good with one coach and the same player with another coach is different. I just wish the best to Rashford and Unai Emery, and they can connect because he’s a very good player,” Amorim said as per ESPN.
Manchester United will next face Leicester City in the FA Cup. In the Premier League standings, Manchester United currently find themselves at the 13th spot. They have so far collected 29 points from 24 Premier League matches this season.
