It seems like Marcus Rahford has found a new home- one he isn’t willing to leave anytime soon- as the ex-Manchester United winger has reportedly stated his intentions to make a permanent move to Aston Villa.

The 27-year-old Rashford joined Aston Villa on an initial loan deal with an option to buy for around £40 million in the summer.

A 20-year love affair with Manchester United came to an end for Marcus Rashford, as he officially signed for Aston Villa in the January window on loan till the end of the current season after his rift with manager Ruben Amorim.

Now, according to a report from The Sun, Aston Villa has ‘made a decision’ as Rashford is ‘prepared to turn his January loan move to Aston Villa into a permanent deal’.

There are reportedly three reasons for Rashford’s stance: his resurgence at Villa Park, his chemistry with Emery as the perfect manager to resurrect his Premier League and international career, and his willingness to stay and play in England rather than make the travel abroad.

Rashford was linked with several European clubs in January, but his huge salary and poor form over the past two seasons proved to be stumbling blocks.

Amorim had earlier made it clear for all to hear that it is the winger’s lacklustre ability in training that has led to Rashford warming the bench for his teammates.

So, after 426 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring 138 goals and notching 63 assists, Rashford made his first foray away from Manchester.

For the English winger, the move signified an opportunity to play his way back into form and to reinvent himself after his inability to break into the starting ranks at Old Trafford.

Reinvent himself he did, as Rashford has impressed in his first five matches for Villa. He has yet to score for Unai Emery’s side but registered two assists in their last home match in the Premier League against Chelsea as Marco Asensio hit a double in a 2-1 win.

United, on the other hand, continue to struggle, on and off the field. Their fight to break into the top ten of the Premier League continued, with the Red Devils eking out a narrow 3-2 win against Ipswich Town this past week.
