Marcus Rashford is almost confirmed to join Aston Villa on loan. As the Manchester United forward is set to part ways with his boyhood club, one of his school notes has resurfaced on social media. It was in November 2019 when Rashford himself posted the note titled ‘Future and Aims’. It shed light on his aspirations to become a professional footballer and represent Manchester United at the highest level.

Rashford came to the Red Devils academy at the age of seven and was called up to the senior team in 2016. The 27-year-old revealed his decision to leave the club in December last year, citing his aim to take up “new challenges”.

Though his departure was somewhat imminent, fans might get emotional after seeing his heartfelt school note. It read, “I hope that my future is very bright in and out of school, especially in my career as a footballer. I want to have a different lifestyle and make my family and others proud of me.”

The next paragraph, written in block capitals, said, “I only have one aim in life and that is to be a professional footballer, and hopefully at Manchester United.

Rashford has not sported the Manchester United shirt since December 15. As the reason for his absence from the first team, boss Ruben Amorim mostly referred to his “training performance”. The Portuguese manager, however, recently declared that his side could have benefitted from Rashford if he chose to stay.

“Our team, you can look at our team and imagine the profile of the players. Now imagine a talent like Rashford. Our team should be so much better with Rashford. But this Rashford, he has to change. If he changes, we are more than welcome to put a talent like Rashford in the squad,” Amorim said at a press conference.

Rashford underwent his medical at Aston Villa on Sunday, February 2. He has already settled the personal terms and the club is ready to pay 70 per cent of his weekly wages which currently stands at £350,000, excluding bonuses. Villa will also have the option to make the deal permanent with a fee of £40 million.
