Married At First Sight fans spot ‘odd’ detail in 2026 application form: ‘Please be accurate’

Eagle-eyed Married At First Sight viewers have spotted an ‘odd’ detail in the application form for the 2026 season.

Posting to Reddit this week, a fan shared a questionnaire that askes potential brides and grooms for a raft of personal information.

The form includes such questions as resident status, if the applicant goes by any aliases and what they are looking for in a partner.

However, fans pointed out that one question ‘Height in cms?’ that came with a very surprising caveat.

‘Please be accurate,’ the questionnaire read after the seemingly innocuous question, a statement that was only reflected in one other section of the application.

The only other time honesty is called for in the form is when producers ask ‘What things are you looking for in a partner?’ which was punctuated with: ‘Please be honest and specific.’

Fans were quick to point out the detail, with one viewer writing: ‘It’s odd how they seem to randomly as for honesty (with height but not weight, as well as other questions).’

Another was quick to point out a spelling error in the application.

‘They need to get off their HEIGH horse,’ they said, referencing the mistake.

Another fan jumped on the spelling error with:  ‘I wonder how many seasons they’ve had that typo and never picked up on it.’

Another Redditor quipped: ‘As a 6’3 lady, I wanna do it just to see the dude’s reaction lmaoo that would be so funny.’

It was also suggested the honesty clause had been included on the height question as it may’ve been abused in the past.

‘I just KNOW they’ve put that because some brother has said he’s 6’2, then they see him in person and he’s 5’7 HA,’ they joked.

It comes after season 11 groom Ben Walters slammed the ‘restrictive’ contract participants are forced to sign to appear on the popular reality show.

Ben, who was married to Ellie Dix on season 11 of the hit Channel Nine series, took to TikTok on share the contract, claiming it was ‘the worst in the business’.

‘There is a Married At First Sight mutiny going on right now, and to help their cause, I’m going to expose some of the juiciest parts of the Married At First Sight f***ing contract they would have signed,’ Ben began his long-winded video.

Reading ‘highlights’ from the 40-page document, Ben claimed that participants were essentially signing away their rights to appear on the show.

The contract confirms participants are aware they will be ‘exposed to certain risks including being shown in an unfavourable way’.

Ben also shared that the contract gives producers the right to take over a contestant’s social media presence.

‘Endemol Shine and Nine each have the right to actively manage and post to your Instagram account,’ he continued reading.

‘You lose your social media, people!’

Ben also shared that contestants also have little say in when, or under what circumstances they will appear on camera.

‘Photographing, filming and recording you, your actions, appearance and voice and sound effects at any time on a continuous basis,’ Ben read from the contract.

‘What does this mean? It means the camera crew can come in at any bloody time – you’re sleep deprived, your mental health isn’t great – they don’t care they’ll burst in and film.’

Ben also took particular issue with a clause in the contract that he claimed absolved producers of any responsibility over adverse effects contestants may experience as a result of appearing in the show.

It reads: ‘You agree to not bring any claim against ESA and/or Nine for any consideration or any entitlement to compensation, loss or damage as a result of any delay, suspension, termination or abandonment of the Program.’

‘Or for any failure to enhance your reputation or any damage or adverse impact to your reputation as a result of or in connection with the Program.’
