Married At First Sight’s Jacqui Burfoot says ‘I love you’ to Ryan Donnelly in leaked texts sent just before the couple’s dramatic Final Vows

Their marriage may be over, but the war of words between Married At First Sight couple Ryan Donnelly and Jacqui Burfoot continues unabated.

The couple’s tumultuous relationship came to an end on Monday night following a brutal Final Vows ceremony.

Taking to Instagram, Ryan, 36, shared screenshots from a WhatsApp conversation the couple had prior to delivering their vows.

Ryan’s ‘receipts’ appear to show he and Jacqui, 29, discussing their vows, with the controversial bride offering an ‘I love you’ to her beleaguered groom.

‘The positives,’ Jacqui began the exchange. 

‘Intimcay [sic] sex 10/10. Ambition / goals – 10/10 match. Pictures and business – 10/10 match. Hot babies – 10/10.’

‘All of that is so great with us. You are my joyful match.’ 

The next image omitted Ryan’s reply, but continued with Jacqui hinting at a possible casual relationship after the experiment.

‘But why not, Ryan,’ she wrote.

‘We are so much fun. Maybe friends with benefits, surely.’

After 12 minutes of Ryan not replying, Jacqui jumped in again with: ‘Okay no worries.’

Ryan did jump back into the chat, admitting he was confused as to what Jacqui actually wanted.

‘Jacqui I don’t really know what you’re asking or trying to say,’ Ryan replied.

‘You want to stay together because of sex and fun?’

In what would prove to be a complete 180 from her final vows, Jacqui responded: ‘Yeah I’m scared to loose [sic] that.’

‘I dunno. Am I crazy…for missing you?’ she continued.

Ryan replied admitting he wasn’t sure of Jacqui’s motivations, especially after giving her number to potential paramour Rory in the previous week’s challenge.

‘Yes I suppose I didn’t fully trust that it wasn’t true after Rory. Can’t help my honest feelings,’ he said.

‘And am glad that it’s not true Jacqui xx. Really hope you handled today well and it went smoothly.’

With that, Jacqui declared her love for Ryan, a sentiment that was missing from her vows.

‘Awwww I’m sorry xx,’ Jacqui wrote. 

‘I love you Ryan, I truely [sic] do. And would never disrespect you.’

Captioning the post with the leaked texts, Ryan declared: ‘I only deal in facts, guys.’

The post was met with a deluge of comments from followers with many telling the reality star to put the past behind him.

 ‘Awwww I’m sorry xx,’ Jacqui wrote. ‘I love you Ryan, I truely [sic] do. And would never disrespect you’

‘Dude, you stayed there,’ one follower commented. 

‘Stop throwing mud at this chick. You’re just as bad.’

Another jumped in with a similar: ‘Move on Ryan. Stop posting about her. It’s getting old now.’

Others praised the way Ryan had conducted himself during his time on the experiment.

‘Ryan you handled yourself like a true gentleman, and you will find your person,’ a fan wrote. 

In some of the most bizarre scenes the Nine series has ever seen, Jacqui accused Ryan of organising ‘a gang attack’ on her during Monday night’s Final Vows.

She then tore the groom down with several pages of lengthy vows before leaving him cussing her out at the altar while she promised to return with a new man.

‘There has been a lack of romance, a lack of effort from you, poor communication, no compromise, and dominance,’ Jacqui said in her lengthy speech.

‘You crossed a majority of my boundaries and your conduct fell well below the standard of what I’m willing to accept in a marriage.

‘If this experiment taught me anything, it’s that you shouldn’t try and fix your husband. He needs to do the work on his own. I’m not a rehabilitation centre.’

Jacqui went on to say: ‘Your complete lack of self reflection, apologies, pride and ego are the reason we couldn’t deal with our key issues in this relationship.

‘I was always open and willing to listen and fix. It’s not me, your pride is the problem.’

Ryan couldn’t let the blame slide, prompting the two of them to get into an argument over who was at fault for their relationship failing.

After a few moments of back and forth, Jacqui managed to finish her vows.

‘As a man, you’re not perfect. It’s not the 1920s any more. I don’t want to be the wife to a man. I want to be a wife to a husband,’ she said.

‘So, today, I choose peace and to walk away from this relationship. Ryan, in a world of red flags, you are the red carpet.’
