A married teacher from the US state of Indiana sexually assaulted 10 boys after drugging them and showed them her at-home stripper pole and sex toys.
Brittany Fortinberry, after being arrested, attributed her alleged criminal actions to the fact that she had lost 150 pounds, implying that her weight loss somehow influenced her behaviour.
The 31-year-old former substitute teacher faces charges of sexual misconduct with a minor, dissemination of matter harmful to a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The grandmother of a teenager, who Fortinberry allegedly assaulted when he was 15, brought the matter to the attention of the police. US-based news outlet WRTV said that she allegedly assaulted at least one school child in August 2024 at Eminence High School. Authorities fear the number could be above 10.
The teen who was assaulted at the age of 15 told investigators that there could be more than 10 victims. The grandmother told the cops that the teacher sent him graphic images and messages and drugged him during a trip.
She threatened the teen with suicide if he spoke to anyone about the sexual abuse. The teen said he was repeatedly molested and Fortinberry had added him on Snapchat.
She allegedly had showers with the teen and then took him to a trip to a town in southern Indiana.
“It was child molestation and he’s there because he doesn’t want her to molest more kids. It was no different than a 30-year-old man and a 15-year-old girl,” the detectives quoted the teenager as saying.
She also sent messages to students which included explicit Snapchat videos of her stripper pole and sex toys. During a search, cops were able to locate the objects.
She told the students that she “dreamt” of having sex with them. “It is bizarre; you come to school, see a teacher, and you are supposed to be able to trust them,” a victim said.
The teacher was suspended by the Eminence Community School Corporation.
