Martha Stewart reportedly pissed off Netflix after she criticized Martha, the streamer’s documentary about her life.
The film premiered at the Telluride Film Festival and the domestic goddess, 83, flew to and from the Rocky Mountain city via Netflix’s private jet.
‘As you can imagine, Netflix is pissed,’ a source told Page Six. ‘Martha was seen arriving to – and departing – the Telluride Film Festival in Colorado via private jet courtesy of Netflix.’
At an event following the premiere, Martha called the documentary ‘lazy’ and ‘not the story that makes me, me.’
Her issue stems from the fact that the documentary places, in her opinion, too much focus on her trial and subsequent incarceration for insider trading in 2004.

Stewart reportedly said R.J. Cutler, the director of the film, ‘refused to change anything,’ while attending the 2024 Retail Influencer CEO Forum.
‘I try not to talk publicly about the things I don’t like, [as] it’s not good business,’ she said during an on-stage conversation with the Daily Beast’s Chief Creative and Content Officer Joanna Coles.
She then added, referring to her doc, ‘I can talk a little bit badly about that,’ adding, ‘It’s more about my stupid trial, which was so unfair.’
‘I had a collaboration contract,’ Martha said, but Cutler ‘wouldn’t change anything’ and when she raised objections to the movie’s second half covering her legal battle.
In the end, Cutler had the final edit, Martha isn’t happy with the film, and that apparently doesn’t sit right with Netflix because they flew her to Colorado on their private jet.
And it put her off that an interview with former Manhattan U.S. Attorney and FBI Director James Comey was also included in the movie.
‘[Cutler] has a picture of Comey [in the doc],’ she continued, and ‘Comey says, “Oh, she’s going to jail because she lied, not because she committed a crime”—some crap.
‘And [he doesn’t put] underneath, “Comey was fired for lying.”

Comey was fired by Donald Trump in 2017 following widespread criticism of his handling of both the Hillary Clinton email and the Russian election interference investigations.
‘I would, as a documentarian, put that in,’ Stewart continued, ‘so that’s the laziness part.’
But, the Martha and Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party star may have the last word after all. ‘Netflix has already asked me if I’d do another one,’ she said.
Martha debuts on Netflix October 30.
