Serie A giants AC Milan announced Massimiliano Allegri as the new head coach of the Rossoneri, replacing Sergio Conceicao at the helm of the storied Milanese club.
Allegri, who was sacked by Juventus following his outburst at the referees during last year’s Italian Cup final, returns to management after a year.
“AC Milan is pleased to announce that Massimiliano Allegri has been appointed as the head coach of the men’s first team,” the club said in a statement.

Conceicao was sacked on Thursday following an 8th place finish in the Italian top-flight that left Milan out of European competitions for the upcoming season.

The club, however, did not reveal any details of their contract with the 57-year-old. Allegri, who was the manager of Milan between 2010 and 2014 led the Rossoneri to the Serie A crown in the 2010/11 campaign and added the Supercoppa Italia title the same year.
Allegri made the switch to Juventus following his first stint with Milan, and went on to clinch the Italian top-flight title five times over with the Turin giants, while also picking up as many Coppa Italia victories and the SuperCoppa Italia twice.

Milan have had to endure a trying year following the departure of former coach Stefano Pioli at the conclusion of the 2023/24 season, brining an end to his five-year tenure at the club. Milan appointed Paulo Fonseca at the helm beforedeciding to part ways in December as Conceicao took charge. Conceicao led Milan to the Italian Super Cup title, their only piece of silverware in the bygone season.
