Less than two weeks before the US presidential elections, Hollywood actor Mel Gibson slammed Kamala Harris, saying that the US Vice President has the “IQ of a fence post.”

In footage obtained by TMZ, Gibson ripped apart Harris’s political record, describing it as “miserable” and “appalling,” adding that she lacks substantial policies. When asked about his voting preferences, Gibson suggested that former US President Donald Trump would be a likely choice, saying, “I think that’s a pretty good guess.”

November 5

With less than two weeks to go before the November 5 election, both Donald Trump and Kamala Harris have been seen with US celebrities. On Thursday, rock legend Bruce Springsteen attended an event in Georgia, where he stated that Republican presidential candidate Trump was running to be an “American tyrant.”

“She’s running to be the 47th president of the United States. Donald Trump is running to be an American tyrant,” said Springsteen, who performed three songs for a cheering crowd gathered to watch the Democratic candidate speak in Atlanta. “He does not understand this country, its history or what it means to be deeply American, and that’s why, November 5, I’m casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Waltz,” he added.

Springsteen is one of several celebrities deployed on the campaign trail by the Harris campaign as it seeks an edge over Trump in the final days of an election that is still too close to call. He said he was at the Thursday rally to “oppose” Trump and his running mate J.D. Vance.

Narrow Lead

Ahead of US presidential polls, Trump has taken a narrow lead over Harris ahead of the November 5 elections, according to a survey. Republican presidential candidate is now leading Harris by two percentage points, 47 percent to 45 percent, according to a national survey conducted by The Wall Street Journal.

As per the CNBC All-America Economic Survey, Trump holds a 48 percent to 46 percent lead over Harris within the poll’s 3.1 percent margin of error, which is unchanged from August. In the seven battleground states, Trump leads 48 percent to 47 percent, within four percent margin of error for that portion of the poll, the news channel said.

According to RealClearPolitics, which tracks all major national and regional polls, Harris has a slender lead of 0.3 percentage points over Trump at the national level. On the other hand, Trump has a lead of 0.9 percentage points in the battleground states. The battleground states for the 2024 presidential elections are Arizona, Nevada, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Georgia.
