Melania Trump opens up about ‘disagreements’ with her stepchildren after rumored feud with Ivanka

Melania Trump, 54, has revealed in her new memoir how she navigates the relationship with her four stepchildren, and why she’s not trying to be a replacement for their mothers.

The former First Lady debuted her new memoir today, Melania, which gave an insight into her personal life and family relationships.

When Melania married husband and former President Donald in January 2005, he already had four kids from his previous marriages: daughter Ivanka, 42, and sons Donald Jr., 46, and Eric 40, whom he had with ex Ivana, as well as daughter Tiffany, 30, who he shares with Marla Maples.

After Melania wed Donald, they welcomed their first and only child together in 2006, 18-year-old son Barron.

But now, she’s opening up about what it was really like to come into her role as stepmother in the large family, especially after rumors swirled for years that there were rifts between some of them.

‘Stepping into a marriage with Donald, I found myself navigating the intricate dynamics of his big family,’ Melania wrote in her new memoir.

‘It demanded flexibility and openness, but each moment was a chance to connect, learn, and grow in this new environment.’

She explained that by the time she had married Trump, many of her stepchildren had already become ‘more independent,’ and while Tiffany was in her ‘formative years,’ she was living with her mother in California.

‘My approach to building relationships with Donald’s children has always been grounded in love and respect,’ Melania wrote.

‘I recognize their individuality, understanding that, as their stepmother, my role is not to replace their mothers but to nurture a supportive and amicable connection,’ she continued.

‘This perspective has enabled me to cultivate meaningful relationships with each child in a unique way.’

However, she did maintain that she does not always agree with the opinions of her stepchildren, or even her own husband, it is a ‘natural aspect’ of any relationship.

‘While I may not agree with every opinion or choice expressed by Donald’s grown children, nor do I align with all of Donald’s decisions, I acknowledge that different viewpoints are a natural aspect of human relationships,’ the jewelry designer penned.

‘It is essential to remember that each person is deserving of respect and understanding, regardless of disagreements,’ she continued.

‘I have focused on creating an environment where everyone feels free to express themselves authentically. Rather than impose my views or critiquing others, I have aimed to be a steady presence – someone they can rely on.’

Ahead of her memoir’s release, Melania sat down in a rare interview with Fox News’ Ainsley Earhardt in New York, and broke her silence on a wide range of topics, like the recent assassination attempts against him.

She blamed Democrats’ for creating a ‘toxic’ political atmosphere the led to the two assassination attempts – one that nearly took his life at a July rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, and another last month on his Florida golf course.

‘Is it really shocking that all this outrageous violence goes against my husband?’ the former First Lady said during the interview.

‘Especially that we hear the leaders from the opposition party and mainstream media branding him as threat to democracy, calling him vile names. They only fueling a toxic atmosphere and all of these people that they wanted to harm – this needs to stop this needs to stop. The country needs to unite and I encourage everybody to read my letter that I wrote on July 14th, again. Because that cannot continue.’
