A car rammed into dozens of fans at the trophy parade, and the driver, a 53-year-old British man from the Liverpool area, was detained by Merseyside Police.

Scenes of horror unfolded at the Liverpool trophy parade as a car ran into fans of the club celebrating their team’s 20th top-flight title at Water Street. What was meant to be a celebration of the club’s recent success in the English top-flight turned into a day of despair for the Red faithful.
The driver, a 53-year-old British man from the Liverpool area, was detained by Merseyside Police. Emergency services responded immediately as the players rushed to the side of the injured supporters and their families to show their support.
Liverpool FC took sent their thought to those affected by the incident and promised continued support to the services and agencies dealing with the horrendous incident.

Fans who bore witnesses to the chaotic scene revealed that the car paused before accelerating forward, leaving a swathe of victims in its wake while some were pinned under. Emergency services freed those trapped in the wreckage before police intervened to apprehend the driver while the raging crowd look to confront the perpetrator.
