Santra Saju completed her schooling in the UAE and got her degree from Kochi before moving to Scotland for higher education.
Santra Saju was a postgraduate student of Psychology at Heriot-Watt University in Scotland’s capital Edinburgh.
Santra Saju, a student from Kerala was found dead in a river in Scotland after she was reported missing earlier this month. The family of the 22-year-old said that the country’s police informed them there were no signs of assault on the body. Nothing suspicious was found on CCTV, they said.
Santra Saju was a postgraduate student of Psychology at Heriot-Watt University in Scotland’s capital Edinburgh. She had joined the university last year and was reported as having gone missing on December 6. The police released a CCTV clip in which Santra Saju was last seen at an Asda supermarket in the Almondvale area of Livingston town.
The police said in a statement, “Around 11.55 am on Friday, December 27, 2024, police were made aware of a body found in the water near Newbridge. Formal identification has still to take place. However, the family of Santra Saju, 22, has been informed.”
Santra Saju is the only child of Saju and Ancy from Perumbavoor in Kerala’s Ernakulam district. She completed her schooling in the UAE and got her degree from Kochi before moving to Scotland for higher education.
A relative told Indian Express, “We were informed about the recovery of the body from a river that flows through a park opposite the place where she lived. There are no signs of any criminal assault on the body. Police have examined CCTV footage and found nothing suspicious.”
“We have no complaints about the police investigation. They had a team that had probed vigorously right from the day she went missing. They had kept the family updated about the probe,” the relative said as per the outlet.
