There were some bold fashion choices made on the GQ Men Of The Year Awards in Sydney on Wednesday night.
A sea of Aussie celebrities, including Jackie O Henderson, Rachael ‘Raygun’ Gunn, Pip Edwards, and Sam Worthington glammed up for the glittering event at Sydney’s White Bay Power Station.
But some sartorial statements missed the mark.
Model Rachael Tee Tyler certainly went for the unusual end of the fashion spectrum in an abdominals-baring mauve-coloured suit.
The 35-year-old added an extra touch of the bizarre to her outfit thanks to a velvet corset that featured a conical shaped bra.
The odd-fashion choice, channeling Madonna’s iconic Jean Paul Gaultier-designed bra, was matched with a white collared shirt and black tie that was tucked into her corset.Â

The model gave off an air of aloof cool in the strange outfit, flaunting her trim frame for photographers.
Rachael was certainly in good company at the event with Heartbreak High star Ayesha Madon also showing off a very bold fashion choice.
The 26-year-old showed off her inner animal in an eye popping corset.
The brown leather corset, a collaboration between John Paul Gaultier and London-based fashion house KNWLS, featured furry lining around the neck and at the sides.
The sleeveless garment also flaunted an ample amount of cleavage.Â
The corset also exposed Rachael’s trim torso, while the model’s pants finished well past the floor, flaring out to completely envelop her feet

The flared pants, which finished at the floor, featured a two-tone brown pattern and quirky graffiti prints including a love heart with the phrase ‘JPG + KNWLS’
The actress accessorised with a large black leather hand bag and a pair of subtle silver earrings.
She wore her hair up for the occasion, choosing to let her fringe hang loose to frame her face.
Canadian country star Orville Peck also put on an unusual display, channeling the Lone Ranger in this trademark leather mask.
Keeping the theme going, Orville also wore a dark blue pin-striped suit over what appeared to be a satin collared shirt, unbuttoned to expose a hint of chest hair and a gold pendant.
The suit also featured some very eye-catching cowboy-style embellishments at the shoulders and along the legs.Â
He finished the unusual look with a pair of white snakeskin boots, a sparkling white belt and similarly coloured cowboy hat.Â

Ruel, real name Ruel Vincent van Dijk, let the shirt do the talking, matching it with a black jacket and similarly colored pants.
He finished his red carpet outfit with a pair of black shades and a pair of black, patent leather shoes.
Actress Mel Jarnson stepped out in a quirky sleeveless black gown that featured one thick and one thin strap.
The gown also featured an eye-catching hip-high split that flaunted the Mortal Kombat star’s trim pins.Â
The look was also somewhat of an optical illusion with Mel also wearing a pair of printed stockings.Â

At the end of the day, it was actor Sam Worthington who took top honours on Wednesday night, walking away with the GQ’s Man of the Year gong.
However, his night out with his wife Lara got off to a bumpy start when a red carpet interview with the couple went horribly wrong on live TV.Â
Channel Seven reporter Sally Bowery introduced Sam’s 37-year-old wife to viewers of the Sydney event by her maiden name Lara Bingle – and it went down like a lead balloon.
‘Her name is Lara Worthington,’ the 48-year-old Avatar star clapped back.
‘It’s only been ten years,’ a clearly irritated Sam quickly added.
 Bowery quickly apologised for he faux pas.
‘That was my slip,’ she said.
