Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has lit up the Premier League this season, scoring goals and assists for fun. This past weekend, the winger scored two goals and provided two assists to help the Merseyside club win 6-3 against Tottenham Hotspurs. Salah’s impressive haul made him the first player in Premier League history to record 10-plus goals and assists in four successive campaigns. He is also the only player to score 10 goals and provide as many assists in the England top flight before Christmas.

The Egyptian kicked off his magical performance by providing the assist for Liverpool’s third goal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Dominik Szoboszlai slotted the ball home in the closing moments of added time in the first half. He then took the match by storm in the second half, scoring in the 54th and 61st minutes to complete a seven-minute brace. Later, Salah created another goalscoring opportunity for Luis Diaz who converted to make it six for Liverpool.

Following the match, Salah was asked about what he felt about reaching double figures in goals and assists for Liverpool this season. “I didn’t think about it before the game but I’m glad I have done it, something that makes me proud, I’ll keep working hard,” he said, as per multiple outlets. Salah, however, wasn’t too pleased with Liverpool’s defending against Spurs. “We were quite good in front but I think we need to improve defensively as a team. Conceding three goals is quite hard. It’s quite good the result and hopefully, we just keep going,” he added.

Speaking about his ongoing contract negotiations, he shared a cryptic message. Speaking to SkySports, the 32-year-old forward said, “It’s great to achieve that at such a big club, but the most important thing is that we won the game. Wherever I am going to end my career I am happy about it.”

Mohammed Salah’s individual brilliance saw Liverpool extend their league lead by four points with a game in hand. The Reds are next scheduled to square off against Leicester City on Friday, December 27. The match will be played at Anfield.
