Moping Tim Walz licks his wounds with his cat as he breaks silence on election defeat

Tim Walz was pictured taking in his election loss with his cat by his side as he sat at his Minnesota house, as his daughter insisted he will be OK.

The failed vice presidential candidate wore a sweatshirt, gray slacks and sneakers as he lazed about, with his cat on his lap, in the photo shared by his daughter, Hope Walz, on her Instagram.

‘The Earth keeps spinning and we live to fight another day,’ the loving daughter captioned her snap.

It was the first glance at a post-election Walz, after he was seen getting emotional at Vice President Kamala Harris’ concession speech on Wednesday.

He was pictured patting his heart as he seemed to hold back tears while Harris thanked him and his family.

Afterward, Walz posted his thoughts on the election.

‘Thank you Vice President Kamala Harris for putting your faith in me and selecting me as your running mate,’ he wrote on X. ‘Campaigning at your side was the honor and privilege of my life.

‘While the outcome is not what we wanted, I am grateful to the millions of Americans who joined our campaign and stood up for our greatest ideals: decency, compassion and love of our neighbor,’ the Minnesota governor continued.

‘Now, more than ever, we need you to continue fighting for those values and the country we all love.’

Walz will now continue to serve as the governor of Minnesota, with two years left in his term.

He has now vowed to continue to fight for The Gopher State, and on TikTok, his daughter shared a video on Thursday, showing her driving, with her brother, Gus, in the passenger seat.

‘We are driving without Secret Service for the first time!’ Hope said in the short video.

‘We are listening to I Won’t Back Down by Tom Petty, and we just wanted to say we so appreciate everyone. We love you all.’

She went on to tell her followers that, ‘Our dad is doing amazing and he is ready to continue the fight here in Minnesota – because it is going to be a safe place for every single person.

‘We’ll be OK,’ Hope assured her followers. ‘We’re going to be OK, everyone.’
