The MET Gala 2025 is just around the corner and before the iconic stairs of The Metropolitan Museum of Art is filled with the best of celebrities from the world of art, music, film, sports and business, here’s a look back at some stylish accessories that turned showstoppers on the Met Gala carpet in 2024!
Camila Cabello
For the 2024 Met Gala, singer Camila Cabello graced the carpet in a Ludovic de Saint Sernin gown. However what caught everyone’s attention was the block of ice Camila paired her red carpet look with.
Cabello’s ice clutch aligned with the Garden of Time and Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion theme. The clutch featured a rose made of 18k rose gold and diamonds, which was encased in the block of ice.
Tyla
Singer-songwriter Tyla wore a Balmain gown made of sand and was sculpted to fit her body. The sand dress was paired with an hourglass purse which aligned with the theme Garden of Time. While, this was more of a ‘Sand of Time’ moment for Tyla.
Cynthia Erivo
Actor Cynthia Erivo made heads turn in an archival bejewelled dragonfly placed on the back of her head. Keeping with the dress code Garden of Time, the Jennifer Behr archival dragonfly was styled with a Thom Browne black ensemble.
Zendaya
Celebrating the Metropolis Costume Institute’s exhibition theme, Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion and the official dress code The Garden of Time, actor Zendaya graced the carpet in haute couture pieces created by John Galliano for Maison Margiela and Givenchy. The Alexander McQueen floral headpiece was the centre of attention and resembled an oversized bouquet of flowers. For the Maison Margiela siren dress, Zendaya accessorised with a feathered fascinator which stood tall on the iconic stairs. Zendaya was styled by celebrity stylist Law Roach.
The Met Gala 2025 will be held on May 5, 2025 in New York City. The dress code is Tailored for You and the exhibition theme is Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.
