At least four Fulton County Courthouse employees were treated for an unknown illness after intercepting a suspicious package with a white substance inside.
A package containing the mysterious substance arrived at the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office was opened on Friday, officials said.
At least four employees have been affected by the substance, but are conscious and alert, according to Fox 5 Atlanta.
The substance has since been deemed safe, according to WSBTV.
It is unclear what symptoms the employees experienced or what the substance was.
The courthouse was temporarily placed on lockdown after the letter and substance were found, with a hazmat team arriving on the scene.
However, that lockdown has since been lifted.
Officials said the letter was opened around 2pm, and Atlanta Fire was immediately alerted.
