Musheer Khan’s doctors have confirmed the youngster to be in stable condition after his life-threatening road accident in Lucknow.

After being involved in a road accident on the outskirts of Lucknow, Mumbai starlet Musheer Khan is now confirmed to be in stable condition as confirmed by the doctors.

Musheer was on his way from Lucknow to his hometown in Azamgarh ahead of his Irani Cup participation on October 1. The youngster was also accompanied by his father, Naushad Khan. But he did not suffer any major injuries barring some minor scratches in the accident that took place on the Purvanchal Expressway as his car hit a divider and overturned.

According to a report by Press Trust of India (PTI), Musheer is expected to remain out of action for a minimum of three months as he sustained injuries to his neck as a result of the accident. This would mean he is ruled out for the upcoming Irani Cup and a few matches for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 season as well.

Dr Bhola Singh, Medical Superintendent at Medanta Hospital, Lucknow, said in a statement that the cricketer is out of danger.

“Cricketer Musheer Khan, injured in a road accident on the Purvanchal Expressway, was brought to the emergency department of Medanta Hospital due to pain in his neck. His treatment is being conducted under the supervision of Dr. Dharmendra Singh, Director of the Department of Orthopedics.

“His condition is stable and he is out of danger,” Dr Singh said.

The 19-year-old is currently one of India’s biggest prospects having had some stellar performances in the recent ICC U-19 World Cup 2024 where he was the second-highest run-getter with 360 runs.

He has also been part of the Mumbai State team where he began his first-class career scoring 716 runs in the 9 games. This includes a fantastic 181 which came in the Duleep Trophy opener for India B against India A.

Many will hope that the youngster can get back to playing his best cricket on the field as soon as possible. But time will tell whether Musheer can come through this moment in his young career and possibly take inspiration from Rishabh Pant, who also suffered a life-threatening accident, to comeback stronger.
