Aaditya Thackeray, the crorepati son of former Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, has got richer by around Rs 6 crore since 2019, mostly due to an increase in the value of land and precious metals owned by him and his family.
The total wealth of the 34-year-old is Rs 21.47 crore, including Rs 15.43 crore of movable assets. In 2019, his wealth was worth Rs 16.5 crore, including Rs 11.38 crore of movable assets.

The Worli MLA, re-contesting from the seat from his father’s party Shiv Sena (UBT), has purchased a pair of diamond bangles and a jadau (embedded) necklace with earrings after 2019, his poll affidavit submitted to the Election Commission of India ahead of next month’s Maharashtra elections shows.
In 2019, he owned a diamond bracelet worth Rs 2.53 lakh. The value of the bracelet with 535 diamonds now stands at Rs 3.90 lakh. He also owned gold coins/bars worth Rs 54.97 lakh in 2019. The same amount of gold is now valued at Rs 1 crore, as per his affidavit.
As against 2019, he now owns a pair of diamond bangles valued at Rs 47.42 lakh. He also added to the list a necklace set with earrings worth Rs 13.36 lakh. His total annual income in 2023-24 was Rs 1.27 crore, up from Rs 1.07 crore in 2019-20. In his 2019 affidavit, his income for the year 2018-19 was Rs 26.30 lakh.
Aaditya continues to own close to 20 kg of silver articles, the same as in 2019. However, its value has increased from Rs 7.14 lakh to Rs 16.42 lakh. The total worth of his jewellery and precious metals was Rs 64.65 lakh in 2019, which is now Rs 1.91 crore. He also invested in LIC after 2019 with a premium cost of Rs 21.55 lakh.
Comparing his 2024 and 2019 affidavits shows Aaditya now also owns weapons worth Rs 7.80 lakh that were not there earlier.
Real Estate And Car
The MLA has not purchased any new land or vehicle post-2019. The value of his immovable assets, agricultural land and commercial spaces, has increased from Rs 4.67 crore in 2019 to Rs 6.04 crore now.
Aaditya owns two commercial spaces – shops in Thane – one of these was gifted by his mother in 2019 while he purchased the other in 2019. The collective value of the two shops was Rs 3.8 crore in 2019, which has increased to Rs 4.56 crore now.
He also owns five pieces of agricultural land – all gifted by his father in 2013. The value of the agricultural land in Raigad in 2019 was Rs 77.66 lakh, which increased to Rs 1.48 crore in 2024.
The Shiv Sena (UBT) leader currently owns a 2013-registered BMW car purchased in 2019 with a current insurance value of Rs 4.21 lakh. In 2019, his paper mentioned the same car registration number from BMW purchased in 2019 but registered in 2010. The value of the car was Rs 6.50 lakh in 2019.
From Bank Deposits to Mutual Funds
Aaditya, contesting his second assembly election, has changed his investment pattern in the last five years. Earlier, his money was in bank deposits and fixed deposits (FDs). But now the major share of his money is in mutual funds. This month he invested Rs 10 crore in Aditya Birla Sun Life Arbitrage – accountable for almost all his investment in mutual funds.
As per his 2019 documents, he had Rs 10.36 crore in the bank, including FDs. This time this has dropped to just Rs 2.81 crore. The value of his investment in mutual funds has increased from Rs 24,026 to Rs 10.13 crore.
Now, Aaditya has just Rs 50,000 in bonds and shares worth Rs 70,000. In 2019, his investment in bonds was worth Rs 2 lakh, and that in shares was over Rs 18 lakh.
In 2019, he had Rs 5.79 crore in the bank and Rs 4.56 crore in three FDs started that year. Now he has Rs 2.44 crore in the bank and an FD worth Rs 37 lakh started post-March 2023.
Hindu Undivided Family
The wealth of the undivided family has also increased over the last five years, but mostly as the value of precious metals and investments has gone up. From Rs 1.64 crore, the family has Rs 1.96 crore under HUF movable assets.
The value of the same amount of gold and silver jewellery that the family owned in 2019 has gone up from Rs 46.23 lakh to Rs 84.33 lakh. The family invested in shares – all before 2011. The value of the investment has increased from Rs 37.72 lakh to Rs 77 lakh.
The HUF money in the bank has decreased – from Rs 54.39 lakh in 2019 to Rs 15.97 lakh now. The HUF had Rs 8.50 lakh in FD in 2019, which has dropped to just Rs 1.02 lakh. The money in the three bank accounts of the family has dropped from Rs 45.85 lakh to Rs 14.95 lakh.
The collective wealth of the family and Aaditya was Rs 17.69 crore in 2019, which has now increased to Rs 23.43 crore.
Criminal Case
Aaditya has also added a pending criminal case to his profile that was not present in 2019. Last year, a case was filed against him at the NM Joshi police station for illegally inaugurating the Delisle Road Bridge in Lower Parel. The complaint was filed by the road department of the Mumbai municipal corporation under IPC sections 143, 149, 336 and 447.
While we waited on the @mybmc to open the full bridge to people for use, it has been almost 10 days that the other side has been ready and waiting for a VIP to inaugurate it.We inaugurated it last night and today, the BMC under the pressure of Khoke Sarkar has closed it down… pic.twitter.com/88xEyxpzkU
