Nancy Mace’s accused ‘predator’ and his wife hit back to claim their ‘quiet and happy’ life is in ruins

One of the men accused of rape and sex trafficking by South Carolina Rep. Nancy Mace revealed how her ‘scorched earth’ House floor speech left his life in shambles.

Brian Musgrave, 51, was one of four men, including Mace’s ex-fiancé Patrick Bryant, accused of heinous crimes by the Republican congresswoman in February.

Mace took to the House floor – where she’s shielded from legal action by the Constitution’s ‘speech and debate’ clause – and identified the men she said were ‘predators’ with a poster board displaying their names and towns they live in.

She made the stunning allegations in an hour-long speech where she promised to go ‘burn this system to the ground if I have to’ and vowed to go ‘scorched earth.’

The congresswoman claimed she uncovered a ring of men who engaged in serial rape and sex trafficking while filming their victims and even uncovered a video of herself being raped.

Musgrave, a software engineer, vehemently denied the allegations and claimed Mace’s speech has turned his life upside-down.

‘Our lives have been completely upended. We will never be able to go back to the way things were for us, which was nice and quiet and happy,’ he told CNN.

‘For the rest of my life, when someone Googles “Brian Musgrave” this is going to be the thing that comes up.

‘It’s catastrophic… I’m completely uncertain what tomorrow is going to be business-wise.’

Musgrave’s wife, Jen, has stood by his side and defended her husband, saying is outraged by Mace’s allegations.

‘He’s nowhere near any of those things that she was accusing him of,’ she said. ‘Anyone who knows him, there’s just no way it would ever be possible so to have someone say something like that, in public, it just blew my mind.’

‘It made me mad to think that someone could say that without an ounce of truth behind it.’

Musgrave’s lawyers, Eric Bland and Ronnie Richter, said they have asked Mace to either provide them with evidence he committed a crime or to apologize.

‘What we want is to put a period on the conversation about Brian Musgrave, to try to restore his good name and reputation,’ Richter said.

Bland said, ‘His daughter goes to college, his son’s in high school. They have to answer for (their) father being an alleged rapist, an alleged predator, and an alleged sex trafficker.’

State police in South Carolina have opened an investigation into Mace’s stunning claims that she uncovered a rape and sex trafficking ring after sifting through digital information on her ex-fiancé’s phone.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division confirmed the probe after Mace’s speech and said the subject of the probe was Mace’s ex, Patrick Bryant, whose devices Mace said contained digital evidence of women and girls being videotaped without their knowledge.

It opened the probe on December 14, 2023, according to spokesperson Renee Wunderlich.

‘Since that date SLED has conducted multiple interviews, served multiple search warrants, and has a well-documented case file that will be available for release upon the conclusion of the case,’ she said, WCSC reported.

Other men identified by Mace also denied the allegations. None of them have been charged with a crime.
