Neena Gupta just posted a video of herself doing Ardha Matsyendrasana, stressing the physical and mental advantages of this pose.

If there’s one ageless beauty in Bollywood who continues to inspire us, it’s Neena Gupta. Known for her unfiltered honesty and graceful approach to life, Neena has cultivated a dedicated fan base that admires her for more than just her acting skills. One of the secrets behind her radiant appearance is her dedication to fitness, particularly yoga. Recently, the actress shared a video on Instagram where she performs a yoga pose and credits her mother for introducing her to this practice in childhood.

In the video, Neena can be seen performing Ardha Matsyendrasana (half lord of the fishes pose). She sits with one leg stretched out in front while folding the other leg. She then twists her torso, bringing her right hand to the outside of her knee and placing her left hand behind her back. At the same time, she turns her head and eyes to look over her left shoulder. Alongside the video, Neena wrote, “Good morning! Thank you, my dear mother, for encouraging me to learn yoga in my childhood. Nothing better for your body, mind, and soul than yoga.”

Ardha Matsyendrasana helps maintain a healthy spine. By twisting the spine, it massages the nerve roots that branch from the vertebral column. This improves the function of our central nervous system, including body movement and brain functions such as thinking and speaking. If you’re someone who sits for prolonged hours due to work, try performing this yoga pose for at least 20 seconds.

This is just one of many instances where Neena has shared her yoga journey with her followers. In another video, she can be seen performing Tulasana. In Padmasana (the Lotus Pose), Neena places her hands alongside her hips. She gently presses both palms on the floor and lifts her upper body. This yoga pose is excellent for strengthening shoulders, arms, chest, and stomach. It also improves blood flow in the area and helps keep the muscles toned and strong.

Despite her busy schedule, Neena makes sure to find some time for yoga. In an interview with Curly Tales, she shared insights into her fitness routine, saying, “I do one hour of yoga in the morning and one hour of walking in the evening.”
