As per the latest polls, Nevada is seeing a tight battle with the difference between Trump and Kamala being just about one per cent.
The stage is set in what is being seen as one of the closest elections in the United States. With voting set to begin, all eyes will be on the seven swing states where the fight is neck and neck as per polls. Nevada, one of the swing states, will give six electoral votes to the winner.
Both Presidential candidates – Kamala Harris and Donald Trump – have campaigned in Nevada, the Silver State, multiple times this season. As per the latest polls, Nevada is seeing a tight battle with the difference between Trump and Kamala being just about one per cent. In fact, the latest Emerson College poll has put both the Republicans and Democrats at 48 per cent each. The NY Times/Siena College poll has predicted a lead for Harris at 49 per cent against Trump (46 per cent).
The Democrats have won six of the past eight presidential elections in Nevada. The margin, however, has continued to get narrower every election. In 2008, Barack Obama had won Nevada by more than 12 percentage points while in 2012, the margin went down to less than 7 points. In 2016, Hillary Clinton won Nevada by less than 3 points (2.42 per cent) over Trump. In 2020, Joe Biden won Nevada by just 2.39 per cent.
Nevada will also see a fight between Democrat Senator Jacky Rosen and Republican Sam Brown to elect the senator for the next six years.
