A powerful dust storm swept through southern New Mexico on Monday bringing limited visibility and causing crashes according to local media reports.
Vehicles were abandoned on roads as the National Weather Service issued Dust Storm Warnings.
The winds are part of a weather system due to move through other southern states including Louisiana where tornadoes are expected.
