Jisoo is making her on-screen comeback after three years since Snowdrop’s last episode was released.

BLACKPINK’s Jisoo is making a comeback on-screen after a hiatus of three years. She is all set to appear in the new zombie outbreak-based drama titled Newtopia, opposite actor Park Jeong Min. The 30-year-old actor-singer was last seen in the K-drama Snowdrop, co-starring Jung Hae In, whose last episode aired in January 2022. Recently, the makers released a few stills from Jisoo’s upcoming show, giving fans a slight glimpse of the chemistry between the leads, thus adding to its hype.
On January 13, Coupang Play dropped a few snaps from Newtopia with Jisoo and Jeong Min in their respective characters, sharing some romantic moments right before the zombie outbreak. The post revealed that the leads would work in the same ice cream shop, where they slowly developed feelings for each other.
In the first picture, the BLACKPINK member, who will be playing the role of Kang Young Ju, could be seen lovingly staring at something while having a gift in her hand. Following this, Jeong Min’s character, Lee Jae Yoon, was seen with a rather contrasting expression. In the third photo, Young Ju was seen adorably giving that gift to Jae Yoon, who was surprised by the gesture.
The last three snaps changed the mood of the post completely. It showcased the two sharing some love-filled moments during a trip. Sharing the pictures, the makers wrote, “Before the zombies took over the world, Sweet moment of the ‘talented’ couple.” These new stills have left the audience excited for the new K-drama.
In the comment section, one user wrote, “Patiently waiting. We love you, Jisoo.” Another said, “This couple’s chemistry is so adorable, I can’t wait for Newtopia to air.”

Based on Han Sang Woon’s novel Influenza, Newtopia will follow the lives of Kang Young Ju and Lee Jae Yoon. They meet at an ice cream shop while working there and eventually fall in love. The couple break up after Jae Yoon enlists in the military to complete his service. After their break up, a sudden zombie outbreak spread across Seoul. The two do everything in their might to fight the zombies and reunite.
Newtopia, directed by Yoon Sung Hyun, will premiere on February 7 on Coupang Play and Amazon Prime Video.
