Kidman said she was attracted to the project because it was ‘an area [she’d] never been’ in her career.
She explained: ‘I’ve always been on a quest as an actor, I’m always going, where have I not been? And what can I explore as a human being? And this was an area I’d never been.’
Meanwhile Dickinson said he was ‘pinching’ himself to work with Kidman.
He said: ‘Subtly, I kept asking her things like, “What was it like working with Stanley Kubrick?” I was poking at the fact that she is this monolithic figure in cinema.’
Babygirl hits cinemas on Christmas Day in the US and January 10 in the UK.
