With a wide range of drama, romance or crime thrillers dominating the OTT space, the latest Jio Cinema web show, The Magic of Shiri has indeed provided a fresh take to the audience. The show stars Divyanka Tripathi, Jaaved Jaaferi, Neelu Kohli and others in key roles. Among others, actor Nishank Verma recently shared a behind the scenes reel from the sets of The Magic of Shiri. It features the actor with Divyanka and many members of the crew.

In the clip, Nishank is seen dancing with Divyanka Tripathi. They are also seen discussing the scene with the crew and attempting to make the choreography better. Along with the clip, the actor wrote, “Most awaited BTS from the sets of The Magic Of Shiri.I loved this song growing up, and I got to shake a leg on it now. I was mortified this day, as I usually am when I have to dance for the camera. This was especially intimidating because I had to match step with the diva, the nach baliye winner Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya who is just effortlessly amazing at this. She didn’t even need rehearsals – she’s a natural, as you can see here.But I’m so happy with the way it’s turned out.” As soon as the actor dropped the BTS post, fans showered him with praises for his performance. One of them also noted that this was their ‘favourite scene.’ in the series.

The Magic of Shiri is set in the early 2000s, it stars Divyanka as Shiri, a happy-go-lucky housewife who entertains her children with self-taught magic tricks. This is until she has the opportunity to learn magic and perform it in front of an audience. Speaking about her role, the actress told the Free Press Journal, “To prepare for my role, I took a magic workshop and practised hard, even though I’m a bit clumsy. Additionally, I joined a dance workshop for the show because magicians often incorporate dance and acting in their performances. It was such a wonderful experience working on this show.”

The show is an uplifting story of self-discovery and second chances, as Shiri’s quest reconnects her with her ambitions. It was released on Jio Cinema on November 14.
