Political activist and Jan Suraaj Party chief Prashant Kishor on Sunday stepped up his attack on Nitish Kumar, questioning his “mental condition” and calling him “mentally unfit” for governance.
Kishor said that his condition has “deteriorated so much” that he has lost administrative control in the state.
“The first person to comment on Nitish Kumar’s health was his ally, Sushil Kumar Modi… Since then, many Bihar ministers have spoken about his condition. I never commented on it until January. But during the BPSC protests, I realized that Nitish Kumar’s mental condition has deteriorated so much that he has no clue about what’s happening in the state,” the Jan Suraaj chief said.
He took a swipe at the Chief Minister and said that if one wants “evidence” for his claims, one needs to ask Nitish to “name the ministers in his council”.
“Nitish Kumar should resign. But the BJP deserves equal blame because it’s not possible that the Prime Minister or Home Minister are unaware that Nitish Kumar is mentally unfit,” he said.

His remarks came in the backdrop of a viral video showing Nitish Kumar speaking with his chief secretary while the national anthem was underway.
The video drew criticism for disrespecting the national anthem.
RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav condemned Nitish Kumar’s behaviour and said that the country will not tolerate the insult of the national anthem, and asked if more proof was needed to conclude his declining leadership.
Despite criticism, the Chief Minister’s son Nishant and other JDU leaders have rejected claims about his health. Nishant maintained that his father is “100% fit” and capable of leading the state again.
