WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff has claimed he is no longer interested in working in the professional wrestling industry. The former WCW President recently answered several fan questions during the latest episode of the 83 Weeks podcast. He also addressed the possibility of getting involved in Vince McMahon’s rumoured business venture after his controversial exit from the WWE. Bischoff immediately shot down the idea, making it clear that even if McMahon’s new venture had a stake in the wrestling industry, he would not be interested in working for him.

“I realize now that there is nothing I could do in professional wrestling that’s ever going to bring me fulfilment,” he said, as per multiple outlets.

Eric Aaron Bischoff was best known for serving as the General Manager of WWE’s RAW brand in the 2000s. He was inducted into the company’s Hall of Fame on April 6, 2021. Since then, Bischoff made several sporadic appearances in the Stamford-based organisation. While the Detroit-based personality has given decades to this industry, he no longer felt fulfilled working in professional wrestling anymore. “It’s just not because I’ve done it, and I’m proud of what I’ve done,” he said. “Unless I can do something that could make me feel as excited as I felt back then about professional wrestling, I can’t do it. I just don’t have that desire to focus on that business any longer for Vince or anybody else,” Bischoff added.

In the same podcast episode, Eric Bischoff referred to his short-lived run as Executive Director of SmackDown back in 2019. He claimed that he would be taking up a similar role only for the wrong reasons and was happy to have moved on from professional wrestling. “If I took a job like that, I would be taking it for the wrong reasons and would probably end up having the same results that I did in 2019. I’m just not that interested to commit that much to that industry,” he said. “As much as I respect it and am grateful for it, that period of my life is in the rearview mirror and I enjoy every time I look in the rearview mirror and see it,” Bischoff concluded.

While Eric Bischoff has not officially been working in the wrestling business anymore, he still holds a significant presence in the industry. He frequently covers multiple topics on professional wrestling in his 83 Weeks podcast which has become increasingly popular in the last few years. As for a live TV appearance, it is quite unlikely that fans will see him at any WWE event in the future.
