OnePlus, Xiaomi and Vivo phones launched in the last few months are now able to run the Android 16 beta version which is getting close to its official release.
The Android 16 beta update is now available for non-Pixel phones as well.
Android 16 beta is going beyond the Pixel phones now which means Google is getting close to the official Android 16 release. The new Android 16 beta has been available for Pixel 6 series and later models but now you have brands like Xiaomi, OnePlus and iQOO among others offering the upcoming Android version in the beta avatar. The support is not just limited to phones, and you can get the Android 16 beta update running on foldables and tablets as well.
Android 16 Beta Moves Beyond The Pixels
Google is quick to offer the Android 16 beta for Pixel 6 and higher models and now more brands are offering their beta versions, mostly limited to the premium devices. The list includes brands like Xiaomi, Vivo, OnePlus and Honor among others:
- OnePlus 13 (both OxygenOS and ColorOS)
- Xiaomi 14T Pro, Xiaomi 15, Redmi K70 Ultra (HyperOS versions)
- Vivo X200 Pro
- iQOO 13
- Honor Magic 7 Pro
- Oppo Find X8
- Realme GT 7 Pro
As you can see here, the devices getting Android 16 beta feature in the premium category with the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite/MediaTek Dimensity 9000 series chipset running on most of them. Most of these phones are available globally, including India, and the OS running on these devices are compatible with the Android 16 beta version.
In case you don’t have devices from these brands, the Pixel phones are your easy way to try out the unreleased Android update. However, it is worth telling you that Android 16 beta is still at the unstable phase, so installing it on the primary device is not recommended.
One of the expected Android 16 features is the ability to unlock your Pixel phone or any Android 16 powered with the screen turned off which promises to make the process faster. Google is unlikely to enable this option by default which is the right way to go and users can manually change the settings on their device.
