OnePlus, Samsung and CMF by Nothing are some of the popular brands that announced their latest smartphones in the country last month.
In August 2024, several high-end smartphones, such as the POCO M6 Plus 5G, Vivo V40 series, and Google Pixel 9 series, would go on sale in India. But July has also been a thrilling month for fans of smartphones, since many flagship models from brands like Motorola, Samsung and OnePlus among others were announced. The best thing is that these phones range from low-cost alternatives to high-end, catering to a variety of users.

OnePlus Nord 4
The OnePlus Nord 4 is officially for sale in India. The phone features an aluminium unibody design reminiscent of the OnePlus 3 series. The Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3 system-on-chip (SoC) powers the smartphone, which has up to 12GB of LPDDR5x RAM.
The Nord 4 has media editing capabilities including “AI Best Face,” “AI Eraser,” and more. Aside from media editing features, the OnePlus Nord 4 and Pad 2 will provide productivity-related AI functions such as AI Speak, AI Summarise, AI Writer, and others. The starting price of the OnePlus Nord 4 in India is Rs. 32,998.
Nothing Phone 2a Plus
The Nothing Phone (2a) Plus has been launched in India as a beefier version of the Phone (2a). It is the first phone to include the MediaTek Dimensity 7350 Pro SoC. The new Nothing phone also has an improved front camera, faster charging, and a performance improvement over the Phone (2a).
It retains the same Glyph Interface as the Phone (2a). The Phone (2a) includes a 32MP front-facing camera and 45W rapid charging. It is said to provide a 10% performance gain over the Phone (2a). It is also equipped with ChatGPT and a new AI News Reporter widget. This AI widget offers tailored news in eight different genres. The base variant of the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus costs Rs 27,999 and has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
CMF Phone 1
CMF by Nothing makes its smartphone debut with the CMF Phone 1, the first model in the portfolio. The latest smartphone from the Nothing sub-brand is priced at Rs 15,999 for the 6GB + 128GB model, and Rs 17,999 for the top-end 8GB RAM + 128GB variant. The handset has modest features such as a Dimensity 7300 SoC, a Super AMOLED display, a reasonable set of cameras, and others.
Using the microSD card slot the phone’s storage is expandable. The CMF Phone 1 packs a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W rapid charging. It runs on Nothing OS 2.5, which is based on Android 14, with 2 years of OS updates and 3 years of security fixes promised.
Motorola Razr 50 Ultra
The flip-style foldable smartphone has a full-sized cover display and support for Google Gemini assistant, allowing for easy access without having to unfold the device. Other major improvements include a dual-camera system with a 2x zoom telephoto lens and a main wide-angle sensor, as well as an IPX8 water resistance rating.
In India, the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra is priced at Rs 99,999 for 12GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage. The foldable phone comes with Moto Buds Plus earphones. Google Gemini powers the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra’s artificial intelligence features. These include Magic Eraser, which allows users to erase undesired objects from images; Photo Unblur, which sharpens images; and Portrait Light, which improves lighting and background for better portrait photographs.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 And Galaxy Z Flip 6
Samsung revealed the two foldables with support for the Galaxy AI capabilities, as well as Google’s Circle to Search and Gemini AI chatbot. They are outfitted with a unique Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform for Galaxy. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 starts at around Rs. 1,58,600 for the base model, which has 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6, on the other hand, comes in a 12GB + 256GB RAM and storage option that costs around Rs. 91,800.
