Novak Djokovic took another step in his quest to lift a record 25th Grand Slam title on Saturday as he brushed past his opponent to advance to the fourth round of the Wimbledon 2025 men’s singles competition. The 38-year-old Serbian defeated his Davis Cup teammate Miomir Kecmanovic 6-3, 6-0, 6-4 in a contest that lasted an hour and 47 minutes on Centre Court.

It was the 51st time that Djokovic took a set 6-0 from his opponent while playing in a Grand Slam tournament. It’s now an all-time record with ‘Djoker’ surpassing American tennis legend Andre Agassi with whom he had earlier drawn level at 50-each.

Most 6-0 Set Wins In Majors

  • Novak Djokovic: 51
  • Andre Agassi: 50
  • Roger Federer: 46
  • Rafael Nadal & Jimmy Connors: 44 each

A Century For Djokovic

The straight sets win over compatriot Kecmanovic was the 100th such win at Wimbledon for the 24-time Grand Slam champion. There are only two others who have achieved this feat including his former great rival Federer (105 wins) and the legendary Martina Navratilova (120 wins).

“Wimbledon is a favourite tournament and a dream for so many players. Any history I make at my favourite tournament, I’m blessed,” said Djokovic after the match.

Djokovic’s Next Opponent

Djokovic will now face 11th seed Australian Alex De Minaur for a place in the quarterfinals. De Minaur defeated Denmark’s August Holmgren in three sets to book his place in the fourth round.

Djokovic, one of the greatest tennis players of all time, is a seven-time champion at Wimbledon.

“I try not to take anything for granted, particularly at this age. Still going strong trying to compete with the young players, trying to do some slides and splits and push myself to the limit,” he said.

Djokovic’s last Grand Slam title win came in 2023 and prior to the start of Wimbledon, he had said the grass-court tournament presents him the best chance to break the record of 24 majors won by the Australian Margaret Court.
