The tragedy in Pahalgam, where 26 innocent lives were lost in a horrific terrorist attack, has left the entire nation mourning. One of the most devastating incidents in Jammu & Kashmir in recent memory, the victims were not officials or security personnel, but civilians, families, and tourists simply seeking peace in the valley. The attack has sparked an outpouring of grief and solidarity, with citizens and public figures expressing their sorrow and standing united in support of the victims and their loved ones.
Joining them was TV star Hina Khan, who is a Kashmiri herself. Taking to Instagram, Hina shared a strong note and condemned the killings in Pahalgam. Urging everyone to unite during the hard times, the actress further asked Kashmiris to “bring back our brothers and sisters from the Kashmiri Pandit community.” As many of her fans came forward to support the actress’s viewpoints, Nyrraa M Banerji also expressed her admiration for Hina’s post.
Speaking to the Times of India, the Bigg Boss 18 fame shared that she felt deeply moved by Hina’s choice of words and her mindset on such a sensitive issue. “I really loved the way Hina Khan expressed her opinion on this matter. I do understand that this is a sensitive issue, and as actors and public figures, when we say stuff, it can easily get twisted and moulded in different ways,” she said. Noting that many celebrities have shown reluctance in speaking out on the attack, Nyrraa praised Hina’s clarity and compassion and continued, “Her post came like a fresh breath of air for me. These are the kind of people we recognise as wonderful human beings. It’s a human who is wonderful at first, and then comes the religion. I can proudly share that Hina Khan is a wonderful human being and a patriotic Indian Muslim—the kind we need now to prevent unnecessary hate,” Nyrraa continued.
Prior to this, the Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai star shared, “Condolences. Dark Day. Teary Eyes. Condemnation, Calls of Compassion. Nothing means anything if we fail to accept reality. If we don’t accept what really happened, especially as Muslims, everything else is just talk. Simple talk… A couple of tweets, and that’s it.” The actress added that the incident left her heartbroken, affecting her mental health. “As a Muslim, I want to apologise to all my fellow Hindus and my fellow Indians. People who lost their lives. Heartbroken as an Indian. Heartbroken as a Muslim. I can’t get over what happened in Pahalgam,” she apologised in the post.
Many other TV celebs also came forward to condemn the targetted attack on tourists.
