Tanmay Bhat and Samay Raina took the hot seat in the latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16. The popular digital creators, with their impeccable comic timing and intriguing conversations, added humour to the episode while also making it insightful. Their session with the host Amitabh Bachchan began after the actor asked them a question worth Rs 40,000.
Amid the question-answer session, Tanmay Bhat shared that he wanted to be a part of the show long ago. He confessed, “I wanted to come on the show, and then I got to be a part of it. I was in the audience long back and even took part in the audience poll. 99% of the audience voted correctly, and that 1% who answered wrong was me.”
Comedian Samay Raina also interacted with the superstar, sharing his past connection with the show. The comedian expressed his joy recalling the moment when his name was one of the options for answers to a question during a previous episode.
Later, in the episode, Tanmay also opened up about his childhood struggles, recalling, “I used to be overweight in school, and I had no friends back then. So I started listening to Johnny Lever’s cassettes and learned to make jokes. Then I started saying those jokes and slowly made friends. That’s when I realized I could make this into a career and also make friends along the journey.” Tanmay’s heartfelt confession reflected his resilience and strength as he battled several challenges.
As the game progressed, Tanmay and Samay found themselves worried as Big B asked a challenging Rs 3,20,000 question. Unable to answer, they decided to use their Dugnaastra lifeline. The question asked: Which Indian state do the parents of Usha Vance, the wife of US Vice President JD Vance, hail from? The options given for the answer were Tamil Nadu, B Andhra Pradesh, C Karnataka and Kerala. Based on the audience poll, they went for option B which was the correct answer.
In another emotional moment, Samay’s mother got emotional after meeting Amitabh Bachchan because of her son. As she teared up, Samay cracked a joke to lighten the moment. Then came a hilarious turn as
The comedian jokingly called out the channel for repeatedly airing Amitabh Bachchan’s film Sooryavansham. He joked, “Sir, maine jo aapki pehli picture dekhi woh thi Sooryavansham, jo maine aapki doosri picture dekhi woh bhi Sooryavansham, jo maine teesri picture dekhi woh bhi Sooryavansham! Toh sir, jab kal aapko pata chal gaya tha ki kheer mein zehar hai, toh aaj aapne phir se kheer kyun khaayi?” leaving everyone in splits.
Tanmay Bhat and Samay Raina ended their game with a total winning amount of Rs 12,50,000, which they donated to charity.
