One Killed As Tesla Cybertruck Explodes Outside Trump Hotel In Las Vegas | Video

Tesla Cybertruck Explosion: Tesla chief Elon Musk said that the explosion was “caused by very large fireworks and/or a bomb carried in the bed of the rented Cybertruck,” adding in a post on X that it was “unrelated to the vehicle itself.”

A Tesla Cybertruck exploded outside a hotel belonging to US President-elect Donald Trump in Las Vegas, killing at least one person and injuring seven, police said. Las Vegas Sheriff Kevin McMahill  said as per news agency AFP that the electric vehicle pulled up to the Trump International Hotel’s glass entrance before a “large explosion.” The police said that the hotel had been evacuated.

The Las Vegas Sheriff said that so far they had “no indication” that the blast in had any links to the Islamic State group, adding, It’s a Tesla truck, and we know Elon Musk is working with President-elect Trump, and it’s the Trump tower. So there’s obviously things to be concerned about there and that’s something we continue to look at.”

Authorities believe fireworks, gas tanks and camping fuel were connected to a detonation system controlled by the driver in the Tesla Cybertruck.

What Elon Musk said on Tesla Cybertruck explosion?

Tesla chief Elon Musk said that the explosion was “caused by very large fireworks and/or a bomb carried in the bed of the rented Cybertruck”, in a post on X (formerly Twitter), adding that it was “unrelated to the vehicle itself.” Earlier, he said the “whole Tesla senior team” was investigating the blast.

“We’ve never seen anything like this,” Elon Musk said.

Videos shared widely on social media showed the stainless steel truck parked at the hotel entrance before bursting into flames. This was followed by smaller explosions that appeared similar to fireworks.

Surveillance video showed a driver passing by the Trump Hotel about an hour before the car explodes, and then circling back near the end of that hour and stopping in front of the hotel, where the car explodes several seconds later.

What US President Joe Biden has said so far on the blast?

US President Joe Biden said authorities were investigating any possible link between the blast and an attack earlier in New Orleans in which a truck rammed a crowd, killing at least 15 people and wounding dozens. He added, “Thus far, there’s nothing to report on that score.”

FBI agent Jeremy Schwartz described the Las Vegas blast as “an isolated incident” and said, “We do not believe that there’s a bunch of folks out there supporting this or helping this.”
