The 97th Academy Awards 2025: Wicked actor Ariana Grande celebrated haute couture on the Oscars red carpet with elan. Dressed in not one but two custom Schiaparelli by Daniel Roseberry statement gowns, the Best Supporting Actress nominee stole the show with grace on the red carpet and on stage.
For her red carpet moment, Ariana, who was styled by celebrity fashion stylist Mimi Cuttrell, looked like a modern-day princess in a pastel pink bustier gown crafted in satin and tulle detailing . The exaggerated hipline and the dramatic tulle together beautifully matched Ariana timeless elegance. The ensemble is from Schiaparelli’s haute couture spring/summer 2025 collection, Icarus Couture.
Speaking about her Oscars 2025 red carpet look, Ariana Grande says, “So, honoured to be wearing it.It is my favourite dress in the world and I am so grateful that I got to spend this moment wearing this [the dress].”
According to Daniel, the silhouettes you see in his spring/summer 2025 collection nod to a wide range of references – obsession – from the past century plus: the snaky, curvy forms from the 1920s and 1930s (what he calls liquid deco) here finds shape in fragile silk georgette embroidered with Japanese bugle beads, which is then mounted onto French corset toile molded into shockingly sharp hip blades.
Ariana paired the creatively shaped sparkling dress with jewellery from DeBeers jewellery.
Matching her beautiful voice, Ariana opened the 97th Academy Awards ceremony in another custom Schiaparelli gown. The strapless jewel tone shimmery silhouette was enhanced with tulle. Ariana’s custom look was further accentuated with stunning jewellery pieces from Swarovski.
The perfect transition from pastel to a jewel colour palette celebrated Ariana’s style quotient but also added opulence to her Oscars 2025 look.
Exuding timeless opulence on the red carpet and on stage, Ariana was joined on stage by her Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo, who looked magical in a Vivienne Westwood Spring/Summer 1997 gown.
