Paramedic who died for more than 11 minutes reveals ‘tranquil’ experience

A paramedic who died for more than 11 minutes has revealed his ‘tranquil’ near-death experience.

Adam Tapp – of London, Canada – recently appeared on the YouTube channel Beyond the Veil and recalled being in ‘a state of absolute tranquility’ while dead for 11-and-a-half minutes in 2018.

Tapp, a paramedic of 20 years, was working on a woodshop project when a wood-etching device pierced his hand and brutally electrocuted him to death, for a bit.

‘I was moving the electrodes one-by-one and it just arcs into my hands. And it was just this snap from reality,’ Tapp recalled.

‘And it was almost overwhelming. It was like this intense, intense level of absolute pain, like every single cell in my body was being pulled into pieces.’

After the ‘highly dangerous machine’ fatally shocked him, a friend of his, Mark Wilson, quickly disconnected the tool and called for Tapp’s wife, Stephanie, a cardiac nurse.

She immediately started CPR on her husband and Wilson called 911 while Tapp was transported into his near-death experience journey.

Despite the excruciating pain from the shock, Tapp, the host of the podcast ‘Tapped into Psychedelics’, said that while he was dead, he felt like he ‘was seeing spherically from a single point outwards.’

‘And I wasn’t Adam. I wasn’t dead. I wasn’t anything. I was just perfect, like absolute contentment,’ he said, adding that although ‘there was no sense of consistency with anything,’ he was ‘simply existing as awareness.’

‘And then I felt sort of this frequency started washing over me, and it was, it was like this fractal patterns. And it was like gasoline on water, this rainbow effect that was iridescent to some extent.

‘And it was just his juxtaposition of thoughts and feelings and emotions,’ Tapp explained, adding that he felt himself ‘being pulled into pieces and deposited into everything.’

‘It was like basically becoming fabric of the universe. And it was absolutely perfect. Like there was no fear and it was nothing. This was just the natural progression of what every single one of us is going to do,’ he added.

While his experience continued, Tapp said he felt like he was being electrocuted again, but this time it was his fellow paramedics trying to bring him back to life.

‘At the time, I didn’t understand what was happening. But in hindsight, it was me being defibrillated. I was defibrillated twice. I was in a ventricle fibrillation arrhythmia, which is basically the heart spasming,’ he detailed.

Once the electrocution feeling stopped, Tapp said he soon became aware of what was happening.

‘And now I’m aware that I’m Adam, that I’m dead, that I just got electrocuted,’ he said, adding that he was then in a ‘void of being’ for a ‘really long time.’

He also recalled the ‘smell of burnt flesh’, as he showed his missing finger that was burnt off from the accident, as well as his other hand, which suffered third degree burns as a result.

In the hospital, Tapp was in a coma for about eight hours before he woke up intubated in the intensive care unit.

Unaware of just how long he’s been admitted, Tapp said he was surprised to find out he was there for just hours.

‘Like if someone had told me it had been five years or a decade, I would have been completely on point with that,’ Tapp said.

After being released from the hospital, Tapp said he started to become ‘hyper aware’ about himself,  including his ‘natural pheromonal smell’ and ‘the texture of my skin.’

Over time, Tapp eventually ‘came back to the acceptance of being in my body’, but was still ‘left with this overwhelming sense that this is just the stage. Is simply an evolution of consciousness.

‘This is simply transient, where we exist right now,’ he continued.

After the frightening incident, Tapp said he started to show an interest in psychedelics.

‘I feel that the very nature of death experiences is so integrally related to these secular compounds and dimethyltryptamine in our bodies and in our brain was responsible for dreaming and death,’ he explained.

He added that the experience has also made him ‘so deeply spiritual’ after coming face-to-face with ‘infinite consciousness.’

Tapp has also noticed how he has personally changed, adding that he has become more in tune with enjoying each moment, ‘as opposed to applying meaning to everything.’

‘And I think that at the end of the day, the one thing that I would say to someone if they asked me what I took from this, or the advice associated with it, is that death is quite possibly the most natural thing that happens,’ he said.

‘Being dead was easy. It was perfect, it was beautiful. You know, it’s being alive that’s difficult and hard.’
