Paris Paralympics 2024, Day 3 Results

Rubina Francis won a bronze medal, adding 5th medal to India’s tally. Heartbreak for archers, sailors and cyclists on the third day of the ongoing Paris Paralympics 2024.

The third day of the Paris Paralympics saw Clubfooted shooter Rubina Francis extend India’s medal-winning run with a bronze in the women’s 10m air pistol SH1 whereas the shuttlers also assured the country of a medal with Sukant Kadam setting up a men’s singles SL4 semifinal clash with Suhas Yathiraj at the Paris Paralympics on Saturday.

Rubina’s bronze was India’s fourth medal from the shooting range and fifth overall. The 25-year-old from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh aggregated 211.1 to finish third in the eight-woman final behind Iran’s Sareh Javanmardi (236.8) and Turkey’s Aysel Ozgan (231.1).

The archers suffered a heartbreak as Sarita Kumari’s splendid run ended in the quarterfinals and armless wonder Sheetal Devi also crashed out in the last-16 stage in the compound women’s open category.

Para Archery: Sheetal Devi lost 137-138 to Chile’s Zuniga Mariana in the Women’s Individual Compound Open 1/8 Elimination round

Para Cycling: Arshad Shaik failed to qualify for the final after finishing 17th with a timing of 1:26.154 in the Men’s C1-3 1000m Time Trial

Para Cycling: Jyoti finished 11th in the time trial round with a timing of 52.098 seconds thus failing to make it to the Women’s C1-3 500m finals.

Para Badminton: Sukant Kadam sealed his semi-final berth, defeating Thailand’s Siripong Teamarrom 21–12, 21-12 in Men’s Singles SL4 Group Stage

10:30 PM IST – Para Athletics – Parveen Kumar finished 8th in the Men’s Javelin Throw F57 Final with a best throw of 42.12.
