Delhi CM Name Announcement News: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will hold the swearing-in ceremony for the new Delhi Chief Minister on Thursday (February 20), following a legislative party meeting in the national capital.
Ten days after securing a decisive victory in the Delhi Assembly elections, the saffron party is yet to announce a CM pick, which is expected to be named after a legislature party meeting tomorrow, after which the new legislature party leader and other MLAs will stake claim to form the government in the capital.
The oath-taking ceremony is likely to be held on February 20 at the Ramlila Maidan and is likely to be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and several other top leaders. The BJP may also invite former CMs Arvind Kejriwal and Atishi to the ceremony.
More than 1 lakh people are expected to attend the ceremony. Among the invitees will be saints, seers and prominent people, along with vistatak and pradhans of all jhuggi clusters.

The BJP made a historic comeback to the national capital after 27 years as the party bagged 48 of 70 assembly seats, dethroning the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party from power which was able to secure only 22 seats. The Congress drew a blank for the third consecutive time.
Parvesh Verma, who defeated Kejriwal in his prized New Delhi constituency, is being considered as a contender for the CM post. BJP MP Manoj Tiwari and Kapil Mishra are also in the fray.
Rekha Gupta, Vijender Gupta, Satish Upadhyay, Ashish Sood, Pawan Sharma and Ajay Mahawar are some of the other possible contenders for the Delhi Chief Minister position.
When Will The Ceremony Take Place?
The oath-taking ceremony is expected to take place at 11-12 am on Thursday, after which a meeting on NDA CMs will take place over lunch. The Delhi BJP legislative party meeting will take place at around 3:30 pm tomorrow.
A huge pandal will be prepared for the swearing-in ceremony. Three separate stages are being made for the swearing-in ceremony. One stage will be 40 x 24 m and two stages will be 34 x 40 m. Around 150 chairs will be placed on all three stages.
The PM, lieutenant governor, newly appointed CM and other members of the council of ministers will be on one big stage. Senior BJP leaders and CMs will be on the other stages. All senior BJP leaders and ministers will be present at the ceremony.
