Barcelona’s teenage center-back Pau Cubarsi has signed a new deal until 2029, the Catalan club said Thursday.
Spain international Cubarsi, 18, became a key player last season under former coach Xavi Hernandez.
He made his debut shortly before his 17th birthday and has already played 60 games for the first team. All his appearances so far have come in just over a year since the Catalans’ Copa del Rey match against Unionistas in January 2024.
“It was clear that Cubarsi was a special player from that moment onwards… and he is set to remain so for many years more,” said the club in a statement.
Cubarsi, who boasts an impressive passing range, has five appearances for the Spanish national team and won gold at the 2024 Olympics with his country.
