Pedestrian, 17, fighting for his life after being hit by car involved in high-speed police chase in Bradford – as two men arrested

A 17-year-old man is fighting for his life in hospital after being hit by a car involved in a high-speed police chase.

Police were pursuing a vehicle believed to be travelling above the speed limit in Bradford yesterday evening, when the suspect car hit a pedestrian.

The victim was rushed to hospital where he remains in a critical condition. 

Officers have arrested two men aged 33 following the incident at 8.25pm on Halifax Road.

One man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury through dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision, while the other was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. 

Both suspects remain in police custody. 

The road was closed while investigations were carried out and has since reopened.
