A holiday flight from Birmingham to Tenerife had to make an urgent landing after a passenger allegedly urinated in the aisle.
Air traffic controllers initially confirmed on social media that there had been an incident on board the EasyJet flight on Wednesday afternoon.
No further details were shared, however as the claimed they did not know about the nature of the emergency.
But this morning, it was claimed in Spanish newspaper Canarian Weekly that that a passenger had urinated in the aisle.
The crew of the EasyJet flight from Birmingham to Tenerife South Airport had requested police presence and medical assistance on the ground on Wednesday due to the conflictive attitude of a passenger on board.
After the warning came in, the approach was shortened as much as possible so the crew could land much faster than usual, according to a post on the X profile of air traffic controllers.
Meanwhile, the attention to the requests made from the cockpit was coordinated with the airport staff.
The incident occurred during the final phase of the journey, without further details being released about the passenger’s condition or the specific nature of the situation that prompted the police and medical intervention.

Canarian Weekly reports that the incident occurred on EasyJet flight EZY6607 which landed at Tenerife South Airport at 3.28pm from Birmingham.
‘According to reports shared by air traffic controllers on social media platform X, the crew alerted authorities mid-flight about a passenger causing significant disturbance, prompting them to request police presence and medical support upon landing,’ the Newspaper said.
‘In response to the call, air traffic control gave priority to the aircraft’s approach to ensure a swifter arrival at Tenerife South.
‘Meanwhile, coordination took place with airport staff to prepare for the necessary interventions as soon as the plane touched down.’
‘The situation reportedly escalated when the passenger urinated in the aisle, an act that has since led to what sources describe as an ‘exemplary punishment,’ though specific details of the sanction have not been officially confirmed.’
No further information has been released regarding the passenger’s condition.
