Kellen Moore is the new head coach of the New Orleans Saints.
It comes just 48 hours after Moore, the offensive coordinator of the Philadelphia Eagles, won the Super Bowl at the Saints’ Superdome.Â
Moore, 35, is one of the brightest young minds in the NFL and helped Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni dismantle the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night.
The Saints had been looking for a new leader ever since firing Dennis Allen in November. Darren Rizzi filled in as interim head coach for the rest of the season.
The Saints were the last of the seven NFL teams who needed a new head coach to get a deal done.
But, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Moore finalized a deal with the Saints on Tuesday morning.Â

At 35, he will become the youngest head coach in the NFL. It will be his first head-coaching role.
A record-setting quarterback at Boise State, Moore was a backup quarterback with the Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys.
After six seasons in the NFL, Moore transitioned to coaching, first as quarterbacks coach of the Cowboys and then as offensive coordinator.
When then-head coach Mike McCarthy took over the play calling in 2023, Moore exited Dallas and became offensive coordinator with the Los Angeles Chargers before joining the Eagles in 2024.
Moore won’t have the luxury of talent like Saquon Barkley, AJ Brown and Jalen Hurts in New Orleans, which is $54.1 million over the salary cap and faces roster questions and decisions on both sides of the ball.
