Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday launched a blistering attack on RJD chief Lalu Yadav for his remark on the Maha Kumbh and said that the people involved in the “jungleraj” have hatred for the Hindu faith and belief.

“There is a Kumbh of unity underway in Prayagraj. The NDA government is working together to preserve India’s glorious heritage and build a splendid future. But these people who support jungle raj hate our heritage and our faith,” PM Modi said at a rally in Bihar.

His remarks came days after Lalu termed Maha Kumbh as “meaningless” while reacting to the stampede deaths at the New Delhi Railway Station this month.

“The Kumbh has no meaning… It is just meaningless,” Lalu had said, drawing a sharp reaction from the BJP which called his statement “politics of appeasement”.
