PM Modi To Be Conferred With Highest Honours From Guyana, Barbados; International Awards Rise To 19

With the announcement of two new awards, the number of international honours for PM Modi reached 19.

Guyana will confer its highest national award ‘The Order of Excellence’ to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while Barbados will confer its prestigious Honorary Order of Freedom of Barbados on him.

This comes days after Dominica’s announcement of conferring its top award — ‘Dominica Award of Honour’ — on PM Modi.

International Honours To PM Modi

With the latest two additions, the number of international honours to the Prime Minister reached 19.

“Guyana will confer its highest national award, “The Order of Excellence” on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Barbados will confer the prestigious Honorary Order of Freedom of Barbados on PM Modi,” officials said.

PM Modi was honoured with Nigeria’s second highest national honour ‘The Grand Commander of The Order of the Niger’ by Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Sunday, during the first leg of his three-nation visit.

He had expressed gratitude to the Nigerian government while receiving the honour and said, “This honour will keep inspiring us to take the India-Nigeria strategic partnership to new heights”.

  • France: Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour in 2023

  • Papua New Guinea: Grand Companion of the Order of Logohu in 2023
  • Fiji: Companion of the Order of Fiji in 2023
  • Palau: Ebakl Award in 2023
  • Maldives: Rule of Nishan Izzuddeen in 2019
  • UAE: Order of Zayed Award in 2019
  • Bahrain: King Hamad Order of the Renaissance in 2019
  • Palestine: Grand Collar of the State of Palestine Award in 2018
  • Afghanistan: State Order of Ghazi Amir Amanullah Khan Award in 2016
  • Saudi Arabia: King Abdulaziz Sash in 2016
