France’s World Cup-winning midfielder Paul Pogba is currently away from competitive football serving an 18-month ban. Pogba will return to the field in March. Amid his suspension, the 31-year-old, reportedly, hinted at a potential reunion with Manchester United. An article published by The Sun claimed that Pogba triggered speculations about his third spell at Manchester United with a “cryptic” Instagram story. Pogba, who has a contract with Juventus until June 2026, shared a creative of him standing next to Manchester United youngster Amad Diallo wearing the iconic red jersey.
In another story, Pogba shared a picture of himself looking out of a window, along with a caption that read, “Let’s see what’s coming…”
Paul Pogba’s doping ban was reduced from four years to 18 months in 2024. The Court of Arbitration for Sport cut his ban in October last year. The former Manchester United footballer was provisionally suspended by Italy’s National Anti-Doping Agency (NADO Italia) in September 2023. The suspension came following a positive test for DHEA, known to be a banned substance that boosts testosterone levels.
“I am ready to return to normal in 2025. I only have one desire, to play football. The reality is that I am a Juve player and I am preparing to play for Juve,” Paul Pogba, who is eligible to return for Juventus in March, told the Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in October last year, as per Reuters.
“I don’t have to speak, the pitch will speak and then (coach) Thiago Motta will judge with his own eyes, based on what he sees. I’m ready to give up even money to play for Juve again. I want to come back,” Paul Pogba added.
Having left Manchester United for Juventus in 2012, Paul Pogba reunited with the Premier League giants in 2016. Pogba completed a £89 million transfer to Manchester United and signed a five-year deal with the club.
After completing his deal with Manchester United, Paul Pogba returned to Juventus in 2022. He had joined the Serie A giants on a four-year deal. In international football, Pogba has represented France 91 times. He was a key member of France’s World Cup-winning side in Russia in 2018.
