In an appalling incident, a police officer had to be placed in an induced coma due to injuries resulting from fireworks during PSG’s UEFA Champions League celebrations in Normandy on Sunday. Initial suggestions state that the officer was struck in the eye after a firework went off accidentally.

PSG clinched their maiden UCL title with a 5-0 hammering of Italian heavyweights Inter Milan at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany, to spark riotous celebrations across France.

Gauthier Poupeau, a public prosecutor for the northwestern town of Coutances, stated that, “An investigation has been opened for intentional violence against a person in a position of public authority.”

Spanish tactician Luis Enrique masterminded the Parisian side to their first-ever UCL crown as Deserie Doue starred with a brace, while Achraf Hakimi, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Senny Mayulu all also found the back of the net in an emphatic performance.

Hakimi put the Parisians ahead in the 12th minute of the game as Doue set his teammate up with a sublime bit of skill inside the danger area, before the 19-year-old Frenchman doubled his side’s lead seven minutes with a volley that found its way into the net on the back of a deflection off an Inter defender.

PSG took a two-goal lead into the break and had good value for it, before causing further havoc in the second period of the game as Doue claimed his second of the night in the 63rd minute to take the wind out of Inter sails.

Kvaratskhelia, who made the switch to the Parisian giants in the winter window from Napoli, piled on further misery for Inter with a left footed finish in the 73rd minute of the game, before Mayulu doused Inter’s injuries with insult as he got on the scoresheet three minutes after coming off the bench.
