Jan Suraaj Party chief Prashant Kishor, who has been on an indefinite hunger strike at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan, was detained by the Bihar Police in the early hours of Monday.
According to officials, he was taken to AIIMS in an ambulance, however, he has refused treatment and will continue his fast.
A team of police officials reached the site of the protest early in the morning and were seen attempting to remove him from the spot. Kishor was held by the police personnel who evacuated the protest site.
Kishor began his hunger strike on January 2 this year, backing the protesting students to press the demand for the cancellation of the BPSC exam due to alleged paper leak and irregularities. The exam was held on December 13 last year.
“I am with the students with all my might and I’ll be sitting on fast-unto death till the issue is resolved,” he had said earlier.
