Within months of its premiere, Sony TV decided to discontinue Abhishek Nigam and Sayli Salunkhe’s show Pukaar-Dil Se Dil Tak.
Sony Entertainment’s hit show Pukaar-Dil Se Dil Tak premiered in May this year. The story, set in the city of Jaipur, revolves around a mother and her two daughters who were separated due to a cruel scheme. As fate would have it, the paths of the three would again come together. The show kept audiences at the edge of their seats with its gripping storyline but failed to garner massive TRP ratings.
Hence, just months after its release, the channel has decided to discontinue Pukaar-Dil Se Dil Tak, which features Sayli Salunkhe, Anushka Merchande, Sukhada Khandkekar and Abhishek Nigam in pivotal roles. As per a report by Filmibeat, the show, produced by Studio LSD, could only garner a TRP of 0.1, which made it one of the biggest flops in 2024.
Meanwhile, a report in TellyChakkar revealed that the cast shot the show’s last episode today and has wrapped up their schedule. It also stated that Pukaar’s last episode will air at the end of this month, i.e. on September 27. The show has officially ended on the TV channel and the remaining episodes will air on the OTT platform SonyLIV.
While the show is being discontinued, the audiences loved the sizzling chemistry between the lead pair, Sagar and Vedika, played by Abhishek and Sayli, respectively. Every now and then, the two have taken to their respective Instagram accounts to share some memorable behind-the-scene moments from their ongoing serial. A week back, Sayli shared a carousel featuring pictures with her co-star and on-screen lover Abhishek inside a vanity van. Sharing it, she wrote, “I just wanna little bit of party #sayshek #sagika.”
The post caught their fans’ attention, who soon started writing down their thoughts. One fan wrote, “Idk what so say ek side mein show khatam hone ka dukh, aur ek side mein sayli posting sayshek contents, ab royu yah khus hou dk.” Another one penned, “kyu kyu kyu show kyu chor raha ho aap dono kitna cute lagta ho 1 sath.” Meanwhile, a third fan mentioned, “You both have a really amazing friendship bond. Sayli di and Abhi sir. We fans are very sad that Pukaar is going off-air. We will miss such lovely Sayshek content that you both ate giving to us.”
The destiny of shows depends on the audience’s fondness for their storyline and, ultimately, the TRP rating. Not just Pukaar, but Sony Entertainment’s two other shows, Aapka Apna Zakir, hosted by comedian Zakir Khan and Jubilee Talkies, are reportedly being discontinued due to their low TRP ratings.
